Terms of Service

Short version

  • Use JSONZen for anything legal. Don't abuse the service or other users.
  • Free is free, forever. Pro is a $1 one-time payment for 30 days of access — no auto-renewal.
  • If Pro doesn't work for you within 14 days of purchase, email us for a refund.
  • The service is provided “as is.” We'll do our best, but no warranties.

1. The agreement

By using jsonzen.dev (the “Service”) you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

The Service is operated by the JSONZen project (“we,” “us”). Contact: support@bobothedev.com.

2. What you can do

You can use any JSONZen tool — format, validate, diff, query, convert, JWT decode, share, etc. — for personal or commercial work, as long as your use:

  • Complies with all applicable laws.
  • Doesn't infringe on anyone's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.).
  • Doesn't try to break, abuse, or overload the Service — no automated scraping at volume, no attacking infrastructure, no probing for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure.
  • Doesn't process data you're not authorised to process (e.g. somebody else's personal data without their consent).

3. Accounts

A JSONZen account is optional and is only required for Pro features. You're responsible for everything done under your account. Keep your sign-in email secure and tell us if you suspect it's been compromised.

You can delete your account from the account page at any time. Doing so removes your snippets, share links, and account record from our database.

4. Pro passes and payments

Pro is sold as a 30-day pass. You pay once, you get 30 days. There is no automatic renewal. To extend, buy another pass — passes stack on top of any unexpired window.

The launch promotion price is $1 USD per 30-day pass. The standard price after the launch window is $5 USD. We may change pricing for future passes at any time, but a pass you've already bought is never re-priced.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By buying a pass you also agree to Stripe's terms. We don't store card details on our servers.

Refunds. If you bought a Pro pass and aren't happy with it, email support@bobothedev.com within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund it, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.

5. Privacy

Privacy details live in our Privacy Policy. Short version: tools run client-side, Pro snippets are end-to-end encrypted, we don't sell data.

6. Your content

You own everything you paste, save, or share through JSONZen. We don't claim any rights to your JSON, your snippets, or your share-link content.

For shared links (public or password-protected), you grant us a limited licence to host the encrypted bytes until the link expires or you delete it. Nothing more.

7. Intellectual property

The JSONZen codebase, brand, and the hosted service at jsonzen.dev are proprietary. All rights are reserved. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written permission.

8. The service is “as is”

We work hard to keep JSONZen fast, accurate, and available, but we can't promise perfection. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD $50. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice when practical.

If we shut JSONZen down entirely, we'll give Pro pass holders at least 60 days notice and a pro-rata refund for any unused days.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via the account email associated with active accounts and via the RSS feed. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the JSONZen operating entity is registered. Disputes are subject to that jurisdiction's courts. If you're a consumer, your local consumer-protection laws still apply.
